What do you think is the best sports moment in the last 10 years?
I saw a montage on Sportscenter tonight from the last 10 years. Had some great moments indeed. Its tough, but as a New Yorker let me say that the Giants winning the Super Bowl is the greatest upset in NFL history and the best moment in the last 10 years. It was great to have those cocky bastards from New England get what they deserve and the Tyree catch? Amazing.

haha i’m just here to say, really? "the Giants winning the Super Bowl is the greatest upset in NFL history and the best moment in the last 10 years." not at ALL. The giants winning was an upset, but not a huge monumental upset. and tyree’s catch was overrated. It was a great catch, mind you, but the only reason that it was caught that way was because of a bad pass on manning’s part, and a botched catch on tyree’s part. He could’ve easily pulled it in after he caught it. The biggest underdog story of the last 10 years is either George Mason’s run at the final four, or the rays getting to the world series. The moment can be any of a number of things, from Santonio Holmes’s catch to win the SB, texas over USC in the rose bowl, or the 6OT syracuse game.

Oh, yeah. :] I used to live in Tennessee (Nashville area) for about five years before I moved to California, where I live now. When my family and I moved, people told us we had an accent. I still have it, actually, haha. My close friends heard it when I joined their class in junior high, but the friends I made in high school didn’t realize I had one until my accent slipped out! They used to think it was weird when I say "y’all," but now they’re pretty much used to it, haha. I’m going to college in Tennessee in a year-and-a-half, so I guess it’s going to get stronger. ;] But, yeah. The accent makes me miss the South. :] I can’t wait to go back!

I don’t think so. Organized religion basically started out as a way to teach lessons and then snowballed down a horrific hill and has become what it is now. There are tribes that have remained isolated and if they do have any type of religion I’m sure it is simply a way to tell stories and teach lessons.

Yes. I thought that at one time. So I went on a search for other people’s beliefs. I visited over 15 different religion’s churches/places of worship and found only one to be worthy.

Yes, and I believe that the True Religion is Christianity because The Judo-Christian God of the Bible is the One and True God because He is the only God that has with stood the test of time, science, history, and prophecies of the Bible. i like a guy but he's 5 years older than me?
i like dis guy and he’s my best friend his name is Tyson and i’ve known him since i was born our parents are best friends and he’s like the world to me i’m 13 and he’s 18 i know it’s weird to hav an age difference but since we’re part asian girls are supposed to marry guys that are older (my dad is older than my mom but like 4 years) so we always played together when we were little and he was really sweet he was as childish as me and it was just his personality but his little sister which is 2 years older than me has a brother-complex for him until now so she always stood in the way but Tyson always says things like "i ‘ll make yu fall in love with me" so when i was 6 he was 10 and he said he was going to america for education and because his mom remarried so he asked me to marry him even though i remember my mom saying that when he left my eyes were red for 3 days. He said he would keep his promise to marry me but we were little kids.
Then i moved to california a few months after but he was in new york.And over the summer last year he flew to california with his family to stay at my house because of the financial issues so he stayed with us for 2 months and we kinda caught up we’ve been dating other people we really haven’t talked about the promise. But i was fine it was just a stupid little kids thing. So the more i was with him the more i grew into liking him again so 1 month became 2 and a half months he always joked around saying that he likes me and he teases me like he’s just like my age he says things like "i can help you’re just contagious and beautiful" he always grabs me and hugs me and we we go out for like picking up groceries he makes it seem like we’re a couple in front of people and he says he doesn’t care and he enjoys being with me. he holds my hand and i feel like he doesn’t like me but he’s just teasing my his mom told me that when he left all he asked about was me. But later when it was almost time for school we always talked on the phone text ed, chat everything he told me that his parents arranged a marriage for him but he said he doesn’t like his fiancee one bit so i moved one and i have a boyfriend now until last week he called and said " i will still keep my promise and marry you one day, just wait"

That is so cute. Look, 13, 18 that’s pretty tough, if he kept his promise, he kept his promise. I’m sure he likes you but he’s practically an adult, so I would be very careful. You don’t want to hurt yourself. I think in some odd way he does like you, he’s known you for long time, and if you were 5 or 6 and he was 10, that’s not a big age difference, but now, since you guys are older, it seems more threatening in a way. If he teases you like that, no dought he wants you. But, I’m just saying, you can’t know for sure. Who cares if he’s 5 years older then you though. If you were 25 he would be 30. Whats wrong with that? NOTHING!=]

Awe that last bit was so cute! However, if you think about it… since your only 13 and he’s already probably in college… it’s a little bit tricky. I mean, he might expect a lot more than you are willing to give. Then again he may grow to love you enough that he won’t care and he’ll actually wait 8 years to marry you (college and high school). After college, 5 years in age isn’t really that bad of a difference. During your schooling it is though because it can strike a lot of problems. For example, if he wants to go to a club… your to young. If he wants to go out… you have a test tomorrow. See the problem? You decision… but I say just be friends until your at least a junior in college.

There’s a short passage quite near the beginning where Winston is at work in the Ministry of Truth, inventing a story about a Comrade Ogilvy. His job is basically censorship. That might help.

Why is the bible sexist?
I’m a christian and someone explained this to me before but i forgot her reason. Can any christians shine light on this:

There are still plenty of people out there that have those last names as well as many whites that have the "All American" ones. Most blacks from slavery days took on their owner’s last names, so if you really think about it, those are not "black" names.

Those are simply European names: Deutsch means "German" in German. One of the names is probably Italian; another looks Hispanic. European immigrants have been coming to this country for centuries.

There are certainly black people with unusual surnames, sometimes adopted from former slave owners, sometimes not. Ever hear of the Syphaxes? Or what about DuBois?

Um ok, those names are from Eastern Europe and since you’re American, you don’t really have to learn how to say their names, after all its their culture, and language, if you speak the language you will know how to say these names and not make an erroneous statement as saying they are exotic and compare them to American names. Sounds like you have a negative tone on it.

Its like saying why do black people have exotic names such as Adewale, Oluwadamilola, Odinga and Mabele. Its because the names have connection to the culture, African culture that is.
